Altair releases Simulation 2022.2 Software Update

Altair (Nasdaq: ALTR), a global leader in computational science and artificial intelligence (AI), has announced the latest updates to its simulation portfolio, Simulation 2022.2. These updates build on Simulation 2022.1 enhancements and enhance Altair’s cloud elasticity and scalability, electrification, and product development capabilities.

In Altair Simulation 2022.2, Altair EDEM can be used to simulate a variety of applications and processes. Here the performance of an autonomous robotic lawnmower is simulated between EDEM and Altair AcuSolve.

Altair Simulation 2022.2 provides easy access to Altair solutions via Altair One, providing a flexible user experience for simulation tasks on-premises, in the cloud, or with a hybrid approach.

Simulation 2022.2 simplifies and accelerates electronic system design, debugging, and post-production maintenance with Altair EEvision.

Simulation 2022.2 offers an enhanced Altair One experience by giving users flexible access to solutions, applications, data, and processing power, allowing users to launch leading tools like Altair HyperMesh, HyperView, SimLab, and Inspire in browsers or on the desktop/laptop. Altair One is a turnkey marketplace that connects users—from any device, anytime—to their solutions, data, teams, and compute infrastructure.

Additionally, users can submit solver jobs covering Structural, Thermal, and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) as well as High/Low-Frequency Electromagnetics disciplines on Altair’s scalable, elastic cloud infrastructure – making it suitable for IT-constrained and high-performance companies -Makes computing easier (HPC) resources to meet budgets and demand.

In addition, self-service allows users to create preconfigured HPC appliances with a simple click of a button. Users can build these private appliances at their preferred cloud provider, allowing them to use the best computing hardware to run simulation solvers and applications that can run on GPU nodes for fluid dynamics visualization or bulk and granular simulations. Access to Altair solutions through Altair Units’ value-based licensing system allows users to maximize the performance of existing HPC investments on-premises, in the cloud, on-demand and/or in hybrid approaches.

Reliable, efficient electronic system development

The latest software updates enable product teams to collaborate on all aspects of electronic systems, printed circuit boards (PCB), firmware and 5G connectivity development in a connected end-to-end environment so they can achieve their goals faster. Simulation 2022.2 provides tighter integration between Altair Flux, FluxMotor, SimLab, and Material Data Center to help users streamline workflows and provide advanced modeling capabilities, electrical system design exploration, and optimization, and faster acoustic and thermal flow analysis. Debugging and post-production maintenance updates are also available with Altair EEVision for electronic system design.

With the latest Simulation 2022.2 enhancements, organizations and teams can develop comprehensive concept-to-production workflows in a single, unified environment to reduce development costs, organizational friction, time-to-market, waste, and material consumption.

Enable reliable development decisions

Altair’s integrated software solutions empower users to make confident, informed decisions at every stage of the product lifecycle. Simulation 2022.2 improves integration between Altair simulation products for streamlined project management and reduced lead time.

In Simulation 2022.2, users will see significant improvements to HyperWorks, HyperMesh, Altair Pulse, and HyperWorks CFD. These improvements enable better modeling analysis through low and no-code design and engineering tools, reduced pre- and post-processing times, improved surface modeling, integrated solver and dashboard capabilities, enhanced coupling of fluid topology optimization with AcuSolve and EDEM, and more. These features allow users to get their designs right the first time without any hassles. Additionally, HyperWorks has been enhanced with AI to enhance the modeling experience with automated part identification, characterization, and grouping, as well as recognition and management of geometry features for use in downstream processes and further end-user recommendations.
