Leading AI firm accelerates secure, cutting-edge AI with the help of Google Cloud TPUs and GPUs
An AI start-up with a focus on safety and research, Anthropic, and Google Cloud have now announced a new relationship. Anthropic has chosen Google Cloud as its primary cloud service provider, providing it with the computing capacity required to create trustworthy and dependable AI systems. Furthermore, Google Cloud promises to construct sizable next-generation TPU and GPU clusters, which Anthropic will employ to develop and deploy its cutting-edge AI systems.
“We’re thrilled to be able to partner with Google Cloud on training and deploying useful AI systems,” said Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei. “We’ve been impressed with Google Cloud’s open and flexible infrastructure. We are excited to partner with Google to scale up our systems in the coming months.”
Anthropic chose Google Cloud as a partner with shared ideals about the safe and beneficial development of AI and to take use of the company’s extensive expertise in large-scale machine learning systems. Anthropic will continue to carry out ground-breaking AI research on the same infrastructure that powers Google Search and YouTube by utilizing Google’s specially constructed machine learning systems built to execute computationally intense workloads.
“At Google, we believe it is imperative to pursue AI boldly and responsibly,” said James Manyika, SVP of Technology and Society, Google. “We are committed to developing and delivering useful and beneficial applications, applying responsible principles grounded in human values and safety, and evolving our approaches as we learn from research, experience, users, and the wider community. Our partnership with Anthropic is aligned with that philosophy.”
“AI has evolved from academic research to become one of the biggest drivers of technological change, creating new opportunities for growth and improved services across all industries,” said Thomas Kurian, CEO, Google Cloud. “Google Cloud is providing open infrastructure for the next generation of AI startups, and our partnership with Anthropic is a great example of how we’re helping users and businesses tap into the power of reliable and responsible AI.”
The team behind AI innovations like GPT-3 and Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback established Anthropic in January 2021. (RLHF). Anthropic has produced 14 academic articles detailing the creation of trustworthy and manageable language models since its inception.
Anthropic started making its technologies available to the general public in 2023, with the help of Claude, a language model helper. Anthropic is deploying Claude in collaboration with a wide range of early partners and will be opening up more access to the assistant in the upcoming months. To create AI systems that are predictable, steerable, and simpler to understand, Claude combines RLHF with a range of safety approaches created by Anthropic. Claude and other Anthropic systems will operate on Google Cloud.
