Delta, an industry-leading provider of power management and industrial automation systems, has announced its participation at the Taipei International Machine Tool Show 2023 (TIMTOS 2023), with the subject “Cloud & On-Premises Integration for Sustainable Smart Manufacturing.” At the event, Delta displays exhibits in five categories: “Manufacturing Operation Visualization,” “CNC Industry-Specific Applications,” “Smart Manufacturing Integration,” “ESG Fulfillment for the Industry,” and “Smart Machines.” Delta is integrating its improved High-Performance General CNC Controller NC5 Series and providing lathe, milling, wood routing, multi-spindle machines, and further CNC IIoT solutions for metal manufacturing. Built-in industrial CAD/CAM and energy consumption calculation for machining is among the new features of the CNC controller NC5 Series, which are designed to increase productivity and yield rate while achieving environmental sustainability. MES (Manufacturing Execution System) and visualization platforms are supported by the CNC IIoT architecture to maximize management efficiency for a new era of machining.
Andy Liu, general manager of Delta’s Industrial Automation Business Group (IABG), stated that smart manufacturing and sustainability are current industry buzzwords that influence the direction and pace of transformation and improvements. As an advocate and practitioner of smart manufacturing, Delta has replicated its substantial expertise and consistently summarised actual demands in machining situations. As a result of our commitment to the CNC sector, we have improved our CNC controller NC5 Series and developed several CNC IIoT industry-specific solutions, which we will exhibit at TIMTOS 2023. Observing the growing post-pandemic recovery, we look forward to using our integrated hardware and software solutions to assist the sector in recovery and expansion.
Delta’s exhibit highlights at TIMTOS 2023 include:
- Manufacturing Operation Visualization
Delta is exhibiting its Visualization for Metal Machinery Smart Factory at TIMTOS 2023 in response to pain issues in the machining sector caused by the absence of machine-to-machine (M2M) connectivity, such as inefficient management and inadequate data records and traceability. Included are the 3D Vision Management System and the Scada System VTScada, from which machine builders can select according on their applications and production needs. Both options are capable of monitoring, collecting, uploading, and analysing machine and machining data. With lucid charts, makers of machined products may rapidly identify areas for improvement, facilitate decision-making, and constantly optimise the process. - CNC Industry-Specific Applications
Since its introduction, the CNC controller NC5 Series from Delta has garnered several accolades. In addition to its sophisticated machine tool and robot arm controller integration, RTCP 5-axis processing, and other capabilities, the NC5 Series now has integrated industrial CAD/CAM. The programme can automatically recognise drawings and create G Code with a single click. It also offers tool path modelling, which reduces production time and boosts productivity. Delta displays the Multi-Spindle Machinery Solution to makers of machined components that need to concurrently mill numerous pieces. For high-precision, high-speed machining, this technology can calibrate the tooltip location of each Z axis and automatically correct for tool wear. With the integration of the Advanced Multi-Axis AC Servo System ASDA-W3 Series, its common DC bus effectively utilizes regenerative energy, enabling manufacturers to reduce carbon emissions and realize energy savings.
Regarding software, Delta specializes in CAD/CAM for the machine tool sector. The program supports conventional milling and lathe controller instructions and includes pattern recognition, machining optimization, automatic tool selection, interference detection, and more. To increase machine value and competitiveness, machining makers can combine controllers, software functions, and know-how depending on industry-specific machine needs. - Smart Manufacturing Integration
Using industrial robots for risky and repetitive tasks is the current trend. Delta has created a complete product line that includes SCARA, articulated robots, and the Modular Robot RS-M90E7, which combines the performance and user-friendly operating benefits of industrial and collaborative robots. In addition to the robots, Delta is showing its Smart Screwdriving Solutions for Assembly, which include portable and integrated robotic arm solutions with the Smart Screwdriving System to complete the metal production process from machining to assembly. - ESG Fulfillment for the Industry
ESG is without a doubt one of the current hot issues in the industry. As a pioneer in promoting environmental sustainability, Delta consistently invests in innovation and research and development (R&D) to improve resource usage efficiency and product sustainability in response to global carbon reduction objectives. At TIMTOS 2023, Delta will showcase its Smart Green Manufacturing Solution and the CNC controller NC5 Series with built-in energy management functionalities that can provide workpiece carbon footprint reports to assist the industry in achieving energy savings and meeting ESG requirements. - Smart Machines
Delta is collaborating with its partners to display the smart machining center, lathe machine, 3-axis milling machine, and grinding machine with NC5 Series solutions to illustrate the actual uses of its RTCP, multi-axis, and multi-channel capabilities. In addition, Delta is introducing its Electric Servo Press AM-SAP F Series, which offers a precise, accurate, and high-speed press-fitting solution that optimizes machining precision for complicated manufacturing.
In addition to the exhibitions, Delta has organized seminars during TIMTOS 2023 to provide in-depth and expert knowledge on the integrated applications of CNC controller NC5 Series. This includes software and hardware integration for turning, milling, woodworking, and other multi-axis applications, an industry-specific smart CAD/CAM solution, a 3D smart factory for metal machinery, green boosters for the machine tool industry to meet ESG requirements, and an electric servo press for metal part processing. Every day, two subjects are provided to aid the machine tool industry in accomplishing equipment transformation and capitalizing on the prospects of intelligent machining.
