Expeto, Inc., a provider of Enterprise First® networking over both private and public mobile networks, today announced a partnership with Intel to offer enterprise 4G/5G network-powered connectivity across a variety of business verticals. The project is advantageous to medium-sized and large businesses that seek a comprehensive solution (i.e., cloud hosting of network workloads, mobile networks, remote edge computing devices, and vertical application partnerships) to deliver business outcomes like increased productivity, a smaller carbon footprint, and improved worker safety. The NeXtworking platform from Expeto is a PaaS-based service that connects smart edge devices with Intel architecture and runs end-to-end on private and hyper-scale clouds powered by Intel.
Results of the Expeto and Intel partnership have already been shown for electric utility and automobile OEM clients. A smart grid in Oregon was made possible by Expeto corporate 4G/5G networks, Intel Xeon processors, and Smart Edge software. This system integrated and dynamically distributed zero-carbon power supplied by distributed energy resources for an electric utility. (https://www.expeto.io/pge-expeto-grid-modernization/) A major automaker developing software-defined connected vehicles also benefited from the partnership, which gave IT teams complete control over 4G/5G networking from the vehicles to Intel-powered cloud-hosted apps (e.g., telematics, predictive maintenance, 3D mapping, and infotainment media servers).
With the help of Intel Smart Edge building blocks, Expeto and Intel want to collaborate on a multi-access edge computing architecture and provide extra edge services to Expeto’s international clients.
CEO of Expeto Michael Anderson stated, “We have worked with Intel OEM and ecosystem partners for a very long period. We will intensify our direct cooperation with Intel in order to provide results in the areas of productivity, worker safety, customer happiness, and carbon footprint reduction through the usage of enterprise 4G/5G networks and edge computing technologies. Moreover, Intel’s ecosystem gives us access to cloud platforms that are tailored to hosted network workloads like ours for the benefit of our clients.
“Enterprises will reap the full benefits of public and private 5G environments as they simplify their IT/OT stack,” said Caroline Chan, Intel VP and GM of the Network Business Incubator Division. The flexibility, performance, intelligence, and dependability organizations require to achieve their business transformation goals are delivered by integrating Intel Xeon processors, Intel FlexRAN software, and Intel Smart Edge building blocks into Expeto’s platform.
