HackerOne gets named as a leader in the GigaOm Radar Report

HackerOne, the leader in Attack Resistance Management, today announced that it has been named a Leader in the GigaOm Radar Report for Pentesting as a Service (PTaaS). Analyst Chris Ray concludes that PTaaS is a much-needed revolution in pentesting. PTaaS brings modern SaaS-like capabilities to an industry that has long been plagued by issues of delays, manual processes, and a lack of visibility. These features include centralized visibility of identified vulnerabilities, direct communication with pentesters, and integration with other technologies. The report arms IT decision makers with the information they need to select the best solution for their business and use case needs.

The GigaOm Radar report for Pentesting as a Service indicates that HackerOne’s global creative ethical hacking community has diverse skills capable of delivering the best pentest results. It also highlights the automation and speed of HackerOne’s pentest offering, allowing clients to start engagements in just seven days. The report commends HackerOne’s solution for program transparency, with near real-time visibility of pentesting activity for customers through the portal and direct access to the pentesters. In addition, an assigned Technical Engagement Manager provides project oversight and quality assurance.

“HackerOne delivers high-quality results because of its diverse pentester community, streamlined business processes through integrations, rapid result delivery, and automation capabilities of the platform,” said Chris Ray, a security analyst at GigaOm. “Its maturity of its integration with AWS is second to none, and its real-time visibility and direct communication methods will please most customers… Integration with AWS Security Hub is a standout through which HackerOne demonstrates clear maturity with AWS technologies. For organizations that run primarily or exclusively on AWS, this capability will be of great value.”

HackerOne’s pentest solution has uncovered over 5,000 vulnerabilities for customers. For companies that use AWS and want to test applications on it, HackerOne offers unique features including AWS-certified pentesters, a dedicated assessment for apps on AWS co-developed with AWS, and integration with AWS Security Hub for customers who use it use.

“We developed our recently enhanced HackerOne pentest to eliminate the inefficiencies of traditional pentesting solutions,” said Ashish Warty, SVP of Product and Engineering at HackerOne. “Our enterprise customers can now more efficiently manage multiple interactions across their growing attack surfaces and get real-time insights from expert pentesters to reduce security risk and improve attack resilience. It’s encouraging that analysts are recognizing the challenges and what innovative vendors are doing to disrupt the market.”
