The high-capacity TS-1655 2.5GbE NAS from QNAP® Systems, Inc., a global innovator in computing, networking, and storage solutions, can deliver house twelve 3.5-inch hard drives and four 2.5-inch solid-state drives. The TS-1655 integrates 8-core computing power, 2.5GbE high speed, and PCIe expansion to improve business efficiency for cross-team file sharing, collaboration, backup/restoration, and virtualization. It was designed with a hybrid storage architecture that balances performance and cost.
In addition, its SSD-focused design includes built-in M.2 NVMe PCIe slots and dedicated 2.5-inch SSD bays to drive performance-demanding business applications while enabling tiered storage for maximum efficiency, according to Andy Chuang, Product Manager of QNAP. “The TS-1655 strikes a cost-performance balance with the HDD/SSD hybrid storage design, while also supporting RAID 50/60 that gives high-capacity NAS users higher data protection and optimal storage space utilization,”
The TS-1655 has four UDIMM DDR4 slots with 8 GB of preloaded memory and an Intel Atom C5125 8-core 2.8 GHz CPU that supports Intel QuickAssist Technology (QAT). This processor may be upgraded to 128 GB to support heavier workloads. Also supported is error-correcting code memory, which offers server-grade speed and dependability for tough enterprise IT environments. The TS-1655 offers exceptional sequential read/write rates of 3,499/2,465 MB/s when using a dual-port 25GbE network card.
With its two 2.5GbE RJ45 (2.5G/1G/100M) network ports, the TS-1655 helps businesses with bandwidth-intensive applications by supporting port trunking for load balancing and fault tolerance. Without going over budget, it can be used with QNAP’s managed/unmanaged 2.5GbE/10GbE switches to provide high-speed, secure, and scalable office network environments. The TS-1655 supports SR-IOV and has three PCIe slots for a variety of expansion cards, such as network cards with 5/10/25GbE, QM2 cards for adding M.2 SSDs or 2.5GbE/10GbE network ports, Fibre Channel cards for constructing SAN storage, and storage expansion cards for integrating QNAP storage expansion enclosures.
The multitasking TS-1655 satisfies storage needs for security, centralized management, and data protection with Snapshots to guard against the effects of ransomware. The hosting of virtual machines and containers, the simplification of local, remote, and cloud backup tasks, the facilitation of VMware®/Hyper-V VM backup, the deployment of a cloud storage gateway, the creation of S3-compatible object storage on the NAS, and many other features are additional features.
